Fundraising and Marketing Volunteer Role Description

Role summary

Places for People (P4P), a volunteer-lead organization, appreciates and encourages people Haliburton County to consider volunteering with P4P to support events and activities that raise profile and support its fundraising objectives. Volunteers can expect to be assigned to events and activities, and will be briefed in advance of the duties that will be required of them. P4P welcomes volunteers of all abilities.

Individuals (full, seasonal or part-time residents) with experience or interest in Fundraising and Marketing are particularly encouraged to consider volunteering with P4P.

What you bring to P4P as a Fundraising and Marketing Volunteer

- Interest or experience in planning and implementing events to raise the profile and/or support fundraising for P4P

- Experience in social media content development (including photography)

- Experience in web content development

- Confidence to represent P4P at community events and activities

- Knowledgeable about the Haliburton County community and/or the various lake associations and related ongoing activities

- May have established contacts with organizations and businesses across the County

What is expected of Volunteers

P4P volunteers will:

- Understand and support the P4P purpose and mission to transform lives by creating homes and supporting tenants.

- Undergo an interview process to affirm the skills and experience of the volunteer candidate in relation to the needs of P4P.

- Must be at least 14 years of age; and those between 14 and 18-years of age will require parental consent unless they are accompanied by the parent.

- Read and abide by P4P policies and procedures with respect to confidentiality and safety

- Take direction from the P4P lead at events and activities.

- May be required to undergo a Police Background Check including Vulnerable Sector Screening.

What Volunteers can expect of P4P

P4P will ensure:

- Volunteers are recognized and thanked for their efforts on behalf of P4P.

- Volunteer skills and experience are aligned with the needs of the organization and that volunteers receive any additional training before they assume the volunteer role.

- Volunteers are aware of P4P policies and procedures with respect to the volunteer role.

- Volunteers are appropriately briefed and supported to carry out their role during events and activities.

- Volunteers are asked for feedback and will have the opportunity to make suggestions that may improve events and activities.
