About Sleeping In Cars

Sleeping in Cars is a fundraiser by Places For People that brings awareness to the need for affordable housing in Haliburton County.

Affordable housing isn't just a statistic - it's the people you see every day: the cashier scanning your groceries, the hairstylist cutting your hair, the server bringing your meal.  Many of these hardworking community members struggle to find housing they can afford.  Too many people in our county are homeless or hidden in "invisible" situations - couch surfing, living in unsafe or overcrowded conditions, or even sleeping in their cars.

Sleeping in Cars generates donations that help build and manage housing solutions for low to moderate income earners in the community.

Participants collect pledges from friends and family, and in return, agree to spend Friday, March 27 sleeping in their vehicle at Head Lake Park in Haliburton, Ontario.

Places For People is a registered Canadian charity.

Our charity number is 846245959RR0001
