We’re thrilled to share a major milestone for Places for People—one that marks an exciting step forward in our mission to provide affordable housing across Haliburton County.

Beginning April 1st, we are proud to welcome Marc Beisheim as our very first Executive Director. This interim position signals our commitment to growing our impact—building more homes, strengthening partnerships, and continuing to create a sense of community for those who need it most.
Marc’s connection to Haliburton County runs deep. What began as teenage visits while dating his high school sweetheart (now his wife) has grown into a lasting bond with the region. With family roots in the area stretching back to the 1800s, Marc and his wife—originally from the Ottawa area—have proudly called Dysart et al home year-round since 2019.
A CPA by training, Marc brings an impressive background in senior leadership, having served in roles such as Chief Financial Officer and VP of Operations. Throughout his career, he has consistently guided organizations through periods of growth, change, and complex challenges—experience that will be invaluable as Places for People continues to evolve and expand.
Many in our community may already know Marc through his role as Treasurer, where he has been a key part of our leadership team. As we celebrate more than 20 years of advocating for and innovating affordable housing solutions, we are confident that Marc’s vision and expertise will help lead us into our next chapter.
