About Sleeping in Cars

Our sleeping in cars event does more than raise funds for Places for People - it shines a light on a critical issue: the need for safe, appropriate housing for everyone in our community.

Affordable housing isn't just a statistic - it's the people you see every day: the cashier scanning your groceries, the hairstylist cutting your hair, the server bringing your meal. Many of these hardworking community members struggle to find housing they can afford. Too many people in our county are homeless or hidden in "invisible" situations - couch surfing, living in unsafe or overcrowded conditions, or even sleeping in their cars.
